About Lenape Bath
Products, Inc. New Jersey Porcelain (NJP), the parent company of Lenape, traces its origins to the year 1920 in Trenton, New Jersey. That was when Polish immigrant and noted area industrialist Stephen Wenczel assembled a group of investors to form the ceramic company. Through the years NJP has manufactured all types of ceramic products from lamp bases and pool tiles to golf tee markers and electrical insulators. During the past two decades, NJP has focused its efforts on the Do-It-Yourself Home Improvement market. Lenape Products, Inc. derives its name from the Lenni Lenape Indians. The Lenni Lenape tribe was indigenous to Eastern Pennsylvania, Delaware and New Jersey, an area also known as the Delaware Valley. Descendants of the tribe live on today across parts of the United States and Canada. Lenape's porcelain accessories are handcrafted from the finest raw materials. A natural mineral, feldspar is combined with a clay, kaolin and molded into the desired form through slip-casting or hydraulic pressing. A colored glaze is applied before firing in a 150 foot tunnel kiln at 2290¡ F. This high firing creates a fully vitreous body that will not absorb water, rust, fade, tarnish or corrode. Today, Lenape continues as the nation's leading supplier of porcelain bath accessories, switchplates and cabinet hardware. Creativity, unparalleled quality, prompt customer service and business integrity remain the cornerstone by which the team members of NJP/Lenape perform. Strong growth in the Do-It-Yourself Home Improvement
industry, as well as Lenape's widespread popularity in the porcelain bathware
market has presented the opportunity for expansion. Lenape recently purchased
and renovated a 40,000 square foot, state of the art facility to meet
this exploding demand. This investment is evidence of the commitment to
quality and growth that NJP/Lenape has made over the years and will continue
to make as it enters the 21st century. |
